Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a senior professional to lead reinforcing-steel estimating and detailing. The role requires reviewing drawings, preparing cost estimates, and coordinating with project management, engineering, and field teams.

Remote work is supported for US projects, with periodic travel to project sites as needed. The ideal candidate has substantial reinforcing-steel experience, strong reading of structural drawings, and proficiency in estimating and detailing software.

Qualifications

• Substantial reinforcing-steel industry experience.
• Experience with large concrete-related projects.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Formal college degree not required if experience is substantial.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from structural drawings and specifications.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate RFIs related to reinforcing steel.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows.
