Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior estimator/detailer to join their remote team. The role combines estimating, detailing, and preconstruction responsibilities to establish company standards and cost databases for reinforcing steel projects.

The ideal candidate has substantial reinforcing-steel hands-on experience and a track record in large concrete-heavy projects, with the ability to review drawings, develop labor and material pricing, and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience in reinforcing-steel industry.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel on large projects.
• Review structural drawings and specifications for detailing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate RFIs related to reinforcing steel.
• Establish standardized estimating procedures.
• Mentor junior estimators as department grows.
