Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to serve as technical lead for protection and control systems across substation and industrial facilities in North America. You will oversee testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and full project execution while guiding field teams and maintaining safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes customer interaction, documentation, and technical leadership, with opportunities for professional development and certification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • NETA I/II/IV certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
  • Analyze protection schemes and oversee substation control testing and commissioning.
  • Perform installation, testing, and calibration of relay panels and equipment.
  • Conduct advanced end-to-end testing with relay test equipment and software.
  • Develop project execution plans, outages, and energization procedures.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and deliverables with test results and as-builts.
