Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead protection and control work, oversee complex field projects, and mentor junior staff. The role emphasizes safety, quality testing, and customer interaction across substations and industrial systems.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of relay experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multi-site commissioning efforts with advanced test equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• NETA III/IV certification preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Willingness to overtime and travel.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing, or repairing protective relays.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings and enforce policies across field activities.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing of substation control circuits.
• Execute automated relay testing with relay test equipment.
• Read and validate protection schematics and configurations.
• Calibrate and verify performance of relays.
• Troubleshoot protection, control, and communications systems.
• Develop project execution plans and manage complex projects.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and as-built documentation.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers; interface with customers.
