Job summary

Nametag is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering in the United States. You will design and scale systems that keep our identity verification fast, secure, and highly available, while building tooling to boost engineering productivity and autonomy.

You will work with leadership to set technical roadmaps, review code, and mentor peers, focusing on uptime, security and developer experience in a fast-moving startup culture.

Qualifications

• Cloud & infrastructure experience across AWS; Fly.io a plus.
• Terraform or equivalent IaC tooling experience.
• PostgreSQL design, migrations, and performance tuning.
• CI/CD pipelines design and GitHub Actions focus.
• Proficiency in modern, type-safe languages; Go preferred.
• Observability experience with logging, tracing, metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy and service design for monolith and microservices.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for reproducible, auditable infra.
• Identify reliability risks and security gaps, addressing them proactively.
• Evolve observability stack and incident response processes.
• Build internal platform tooling to increase velocity.
• Collaborate with product engineers on infrastructure usability.
