Job summary

Nametag is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering for a secure digital identity platform. You will design scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Fly.io, manage IaC, and optimize deployment strategies for both monoliths and microservices.

You’ll lead observability, incident response, and CI/CD efforts, building internal tooling and data pipelines to support ML-powered verification systems.

Qualifications

• Cloud and infrastructure expertise with AWS; Fly.io or similar is a plus.
• IaC production experience with Terraform or equivalent tools.
• PostgreSQL design, migrations and performance tuning.
• CI/CD pipelines design and management; GitHub Actions preferred.
• Proficiency in modern, type-safe languages; Go strongly preferred.
• Observability with logging, tracing and metrics in production.
• Prior experience shipping ML infrastructure into production.
• Experience at an early-stage startup and fast-moving environments.
• Security-minded by default with threat-model thinking.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy and service design for monoliths and microservices.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for reproducible, auditable infra.
• Identify reliability risks, performance bottlenecks, and security gaps.
• Evolve observability stack: logging, tracing, metrics, uptime monitoring.
• Enhance on-call practices and incident response processes.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and internal platform tooling.
• Collaborate with product engineers to simplify infrastructure usage.
• Design and operate data pipelines for ML verification systems.
