Job summary

Nametag, a remote-first identity verification company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering for its scalable verification platform. You will design, deploy, and operate systems to keep services fast, secure, and highly available, while building tooling that boosts engineering velocity.

This hands-on role requires collaborating with leadership, mentoring peers, and shaping the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Terraform or similar IaC tooling experience.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience including schema design and migrations.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy across monolith and microservices.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Identify reliability risks, performance bottlenecks, and security gaps and address them proactively.
• Evolve observability stack: logging, tracing, metrics, and uptime monitoring.
