Job summary

Nametag is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering for its identity verification platform. You will design and scale systems to be fast, secure, and highly available, and build tooling to boost engineering productivity.

This remote-first role lets you work from anywhere in the US. You will collaborate with engineering and product leadership, drive deployment strategies, and mentor peers while advancing observability, security, and developer

Qualifications

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience managing and securing cloud infra. AWS required; Fly.io a plus.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Production experience with Terraform or equivalent tools.
• Databases: PostgreSQL design, migrations, and query performance tuning.
• CI/CD: Designing and managing pipelines, GitHub Actions preferred.
• Languages: Proficiency in modern, type-safe languages; Go strongly preferred.
• Observability: Building and operating logging, tracing, metrics in production.
• MLOps & Data Pipelines: Shipping ML infrastructure into production.
• Startup experience: Worked at an early-stage company and moved fast.
• Security: Security-minded by default; threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale cloud infrastructure across AWS and Fly.io.
• Own deployment strategy and service design for monolith and microservices.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for reproducible setups.
• Identify reliability, performance, and security gaps and address them.
• Evolve observability stack: logging, tracing, metrics.
• Lead on-call practices and incident response.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and deploy best practices.
• Develop internal platform tooling to reduce toil.
• Collaborate with product engineers on easy infrastructure usage.
• Design data pipelines for ML verification systems.
