Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex payroll tax issues across notices, corrections, and amendments.

This remote role emphasizes expert tax defect resolution, coaching teammates, and driving end-to-end case resolution with a focus on accuracy and process improvement. The role requires deep knowledge of federal/state payroll tax, Form 941-X, and W-2c processes across multiple states, with a track record of mentoring staff and contributing to SOPs and knowledge

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and corrections across states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notice types and ability to draft penalty abatement requests with supporting docs.
• Hands-on experience preparing and approving amended Federal (Form 941-X) and State payroll tax returns across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices and manage full case lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (Form 941-X and state equivalents).
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors across multiple periods/jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity in correcting notices, amendments, and corrections.
• Coach and support junior staff, sharing resolution processes and best practices.
