Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues. The role focuses on notices, corrections, and amendments, serving as a technical lead and SME. The position emphasizes coaching, knowledge transfer, and process improvements to deliver accurate customer outcomes.

The role requires 4+ years in payroll tax with deep knowledge of federal/state rules, and experience with Form 941-X and W-2c. A CPP or EA differentiator is valued.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of State and Federal payroll tax notice types; ability to draft penalty abatements and agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (941-X) and State payroll tax returns; complex jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices across multiple states and quarters.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c).
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or states.
• Maintain high productivity in resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice requests.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases, and drive root-cause analysis for blockers.
• Coach Senior Processors and train junior staff to build team capability.
• Author and review SOPs and KB articles for core processes.
