Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to act as a SME and technical lead for end-to-end resolution of payroll tax issues across notices, corrections and amendments. You will own complex cases, guide junior staff, and help improve processes that deliver for customers.

The role focuses on fixing payroll tax problems, including preparing amended returns (941-X, state equivalents) and addressing multi-quarter/state scenarios, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution for notices, amended returns, and corrections.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft penalty abatements and agency responses.
• Experience filing amended Federal/State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of federal payroll tax law and multi-state tax compliance; strong Excel for reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex state and federal payroll tax notices, owning the full case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c) across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across periods and jurisdictions; drive complete correction workflow.
• Maintain high productivity by resolving correction, amendment, and notice requests with accuracy.
• Coach and support Senior Payroll Tax Processors; share knowledge and build team capability.
• Identify trends and drive implementation of resolutions with stakeholders.
