Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex state and federal payroll tax defect resolution. The role focuses on notices, amendments, and corrections, serving as a technical lead for the team and a resource for junior staff.

This is a flexible, remote position with ongoing coaching and process-improvement responsibilities. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of payroll tax experience, deep federal/state tax knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notice types; able to draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Experience preparing and approving amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c) across multiple states.
• Deep knowledge of federal payroll tax law: FICA, FUTA, FITW and related schedules, penalties and interest.
• Multi-state payroll tax expertise: reciprocity, resident/nonresident taxation, SUI, local tax compliance.
• Lead/Senior SME experience; coaching or training junior staff.
• Advanced Excel skills for reconciliation and audit trails; strong written documentation.
• Education in Accounting/Finance; CPP preferred; EA differentiator encouraged.

Aufgaben

• Resolve the most complex payroll tax notices across multiple periods and states.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns end-to-end.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors and drive the complete correction workflow to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notices with accuracy.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases, and drive blockers to resolution with root-cause analysis.
• Serve as real-time resource for senior processors and mentor team members.
• Conduct structured coaching sessions and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Author SOPs and KB articles and identify recurring error patterns for improvements.
• Identify trends and communicate findings with recommended actions; support cross-functional collaborations.
