Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Independent drafting of penalty abatement requests and agency responses.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, W-2c).
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW, and tax deposit schedules.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex State and Federal payroll tax notices across multiple states and quarters.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns (941-X, state equivalents).
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive corrections.
• Maintain high productivity resolving corrections, amendments, and notices with accuracy.
• Coach and mentor Senior Processors; support team knowledge transfer and SOP improvement.
• Write, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles; identify recurring error patterns.
