Intuit seeks a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex tax defect resolution across notices, amendments, and corrections. This remote role involves mentoring junior staff, owning the most challenging cases, and driving process improvements with cross-functional teams.

The position emphasizes expertise in Federal and multi-state payroll tax law, Form 941-X, W-2c filings, and crafting precise agency responses. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated focus on tax defect resolution for notices, amendments, and payroll corrections across multiple states.
• Ability to independently draft penalty abatement requests and agency responses with supporting documentation.
• Experience with Form 941-X, W-2c, and other payroll tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Resolve the most complex State and Federal payroll tax notices, owning full lifecycle from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across multiple states.
• Diagnose and resolve payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods or jurisdictions.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice resolution requests with accuracy.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases, and drive root-cause resolution with systemic improvements.
• Act as primary real-time resource for Senior Payroll Tax Processors and coach team members.
• Conduct structured coaching sessions and contribute to team QA and process meetings.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles for core processes.
