Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a senior leader to head the Publications team and drive execution of publication plans for assigned assets. You will align efforts with strategic plans, manage resources and budgets, and provide mentorship to medical writers.

You will partner with senior stakeholders to ensure quality publications, timely delivery, and compliance with policies. A collaborative, high-performance environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 4–5 years in medical/scientific publications; pharma industry experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to interpret medical data.
• Knowledge of publication structures and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior audiences.
• Builds relationships and leads cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of publication managers and provide coaching and feedback.
• Serve as cross-functional leader for publications across assets.
• Oversee tactical execution of publication plans to meet timelines.
• Review publications for quality and alignment with platforms.
• Partner to manage budgets and internal resources for publications.
• Provide direction to internal/external writers and vendors.
• Conduct performance assessments and talent development.
• Maintain accurate publication records and resourcing tools.
