Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a Lead Publications professional to steer publication plans for assigned assets and supervise execution of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations that meet strategic objectives.

You will partner with senior stakeholders to align resources, budgets, and timelines while mentoring staff and managing external writers and vendors to ensure high-quality output.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams in a scientific or medical setting.
• Strong communication skills for senior audiences; ability to present complex data clearly.
• Familiarity with publication planning, medical writing, and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional Publications Team(s) for assets and drive execution of publication plans.
• Oversee tactical publication activities (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, talks) within timelines and budgets.
• Review publications for quality and alignment with platforms and communications.
• Ensure strategic publication plans align with Scientific Communications and Medical Affairs plans.
• Forecast outsourcing needs and manage internal resources for publications.
