Job summary

AbbVie seeks a senior leader to head publications across assigned assets, guiding manuscript and presentation development and ensuring alignment with strategic publication plans. You will partner with directors to allocate resources, manage timelines, and oversee both internal and external writers to deliver high-quality scientific communications.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree; advanced degrees preferred (PhD/PharmD/Master's).
4-5 years of medical/scientific publications experience in pharma or related fields.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of publication standards and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional Publications Team(s) for assigned assets and drive publication execution.
Oversee publication plans: manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations within timelines and budgets.
Ensure quality and alignment with scientific platforms across therapeutic areas.
Partner to align strategic publication plans with overall medical communications goals.
Provide guidance to internal/external writers and manage outsourcing budgets and resources.
