Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to drive reliability and scalability of its global network infrastructure. You will partner with software, operations and network teams to shape standards and tooling.

Responsibilities include defining SLOs, automating pipelines, and mentoring teammates while ensuring high availability across Akamai Connected Cloud. Strong Linux networking and scripting skills are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in relevant fields and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience in Site/Network Reliability Engineering, Network/Software/DevOps roles with large-scale distributed systems.
• Advanced proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet).
• Experience with Linux networking userspace and open source networking software (FRR, Bird, goBGP).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and Cisco/Juniper routers/switches.
• Experience developing apps and contributing to codebases using Python, Bash, or Go; and CI/CD tools like Jenkins/Github Actions/ArgoCD.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products and services.
• Define requirements within the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing and deployment.
• Define SLOs for Akamai Connected Cloud network infrastructure for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality and architectural decisions.
