Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to drive reliability and scalability of our global network infrastructure.

You will partner with software, operations and network teams to define standards, design robust solutions, and build automation that accelerates development, testing and deployment. You will mentor peers, shape architecture, and define SLOs to ensure high availability and performance across Akamai Connected Cloud.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE/Network/DevOps roles with distributed systems.
• Expertise with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet).
• Strong Linux networking knowledge and open source tools (FRR, Bird, goBGP).
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, and routing devices (Cisco/Juniper).
• Proficient in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products and services.
• Define product lifecycle requirements to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines for development, testing and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for Akamai Connected Cloud network infrastructure to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and drive architectural decisions and code quality.
