Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to advance reliability, scalability, and performance of our global network infrastructure.

You will collaborate with software, operations, and network teams to define requirements and drive architectural standards. You will build automation in CI/CD pipelines, help shape SLOs for Akamai Connected Cloud, and mentor peers to uphold high code quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability/Network/DevOps roles.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency with config management tools such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet.
• Experience with Linux networking and open source networking software such as FRR, Bird, or goBGP.
• Understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, OSI, and routers/switches from Cisco or Juniper.
• Experience developing apps and contributing to codebases with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Define requirements to influence designs and standards across the product lifecycle.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure within Akamai Connected Cloud for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality and architectural decisions.
