Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to join our global team. You will help ensure reliability and performance of Akamai's networking platforms and Connected Cloud services.

The role emphasizes automation, scale, and cross-team collaboration. You will design and enforce standards, mentor peers, and contribute to architecture decisions while working with development, operations, and network teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE/Network reliability or related fields.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet).
• Experience with Linux networking and open source networking software (FRR, Bird, goBGP).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, and routing/switching (Cisco/Juniper).
• Experience developing scripts in Python, Bash, or Go; familiar with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD).
• Ability to mentor teammates and lead architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and usability of network infrastructure and services.
• Define requirements within the product lifecycle to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines for development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for Akamai Connected Cloud network infrastructure to ensure performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA to improve code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality and architectural direction.
