Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to drive reliability, scalability and performance of our global network platform.

You will design and implement automation, define standards, and influence product decisions to improve availability and efficiency. Collaborating with software, operations and network teams, you will mentor peers, review code, and help shape architecture while delivering robust services for Akamai Connected Cloud customers across

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent
• Experience in Site/Network Reliability Engineering, Network Engineering, Software Engineering, or DevOps with large-scale distributed systems
• Advanced proficiency with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef, Puppet)
• Experience with Linux networking and open source networking software (FRR, Bird, goBGP)
• Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, OSI model) and Cisco/Juniper routers/switches
• Experience developing applications, contributing to codebases, code reviews, and scripting (Python, Bash, Go)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD)

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products, and services.
• Define requirements in the product lifecycle to influence new designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure within Akamai Connected Cloud for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve stability and code quality.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality standards and architectural decisions.
