Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer - Network to help design, build, and operate scalable network infrastructure for Akamai Connected Cloud. You will partner with software, operations, and network teams to craft robust, observable systems and standards.

You will define SLOs, develop automation pipelines, mentor peers, and contribute to code quality across distributed services. This role emphasizes collaboration, reliability, and performance at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SRE/Network reliability roles, with distributed systems.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tooling.
• Proficiency in Linux networking and open source networking software.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, OSI, and routing protocols.
• Ability to contribute to codebases, perform reviews, and write scripts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, scalability, and usability of network infrastructure and services.
• Define product lifecycle requirements to influence designs and standards.
• Develop automation pipelines for development, testing, and deployment.
• Define SLOs to ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve stability and code quality.
• Mentor teammates and drive architectural decisions.
