Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer – Network to join our global team.

You will help ensure reliability, scale, and performance of our network infrastructure and services, shaping designs and standards with cross-functional partners. You will build automation pipelines, set SLOs, and collaborate with development and QA to improve robustness, code quality, and stability, while mentoring peers and leading architectural decisions in a fast-paced, cutting-edge

Qualifications

• Experience in Site/Network Reliability Engineering, Network Engineering, Software Engineering, or DevOps for large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Chef or Puppet.
• Familiarity with Linux networking and open source software like FRR, Bird, or goBGP.
• Understanding TCP/IP, OSI model, and Cisco/Juniper routers and switches.
• Experience developing applications, contributing to codebases, code reviews, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Github Actions, ArgoCD.

Responsibilities

• Partner across teams to ensure reliability, scalability and usability of network infrastructure, products and services.
• Define requirements to influence new designs and standards throughout the product lifecycle.
• Develop automation pipelines to support development, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Define SLOs for network infrastructure within Akamai Connected Cloud for high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with Dev and QA teams to improve robustness, code quality and stability.
• Mentor team members and provide leadership on architectural decisions.
