Job summary

Integrated Power Services in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a Field Service Supervisor to lead jobs and technicians in the field, ensuring safety and quality on high voltage systems up to 500 kV. The role requires mentoring crews, coordinating field activities, and representing IPS professionally with customers.

You will perform start-up, testing, and data collection of HV equipment, schedule travel, and respond to emergencies on-call.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree from a 2-year technical college in Electrical Power, or military training in electrical power production preferred
• NETA Certification II or higher preferred or equivalent skills/experience to become NETA Certified
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and overnight
• 5+ years of relevant field experience in electrical power systems
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform demanding physical work
• OSHA 30 hour, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead jobs and service technicians in the field.
• Represent IPS professionally with customers and engineering teams.
• Assist with developing proposals, performing job walks, and defining work scope for reliability, preventive maintenance, and NETA testing.
• Mentor and train team members in advanced electrical skills and maintenance practices.
• Complete field service safety checklists on every job to identify hazards.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and data collection of low, medium and high voltage equipment (to 500 kV) and relay calibration.
• Test transformers, relays, and cable testing methods (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF).
• Troubleshoot and service automatic transfer switches and switchgear/circuit breakers.
• Rotate emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
• Work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends; be willing to travel locally/overnight as required.
