Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) in Corpus Christi, TX seeks a skilled electrical power technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and calibrate high- and medium-voltage systems up to 500 kV, including relay and metering work. Emphasis on safety, on-site field service, and customer-focused problem solving.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 5+ years of relevant experience, and preferably an associate degree or military electrical power training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Power or military training in electrical power preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant field experience.
• NETA Certification II or higher preferred or equivalent experience.
• OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection for low-, medium- and high-voltage electrical systems up to 500 kV.
• Test instrument transformers and power transformers (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, etc.).
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switches and low/medium/high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Travel locally and overnight; on-call as required; ensure safety procedures are followed.
