Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) seeks a field electrical test technician to inspect, test and troubleshoot high, medium, and low voltage systems up to 500kV. Responsibilities include transformer and relay testing, cable tests, and on-site diagnostics with travel and on-call work as needed.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in the power/electrical sector, valid driver's license, NETA certification preferred, and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Power or equivalent preferred.
• Must have at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
• NETA Certification (III or IV) highly preferred or equivalent.
• Prefer OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Instrument transformer tests.
• Power transformer testing - Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
• Test both electro-mechanical and solid state relays.
• Cable testing - Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
• Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
• Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies on time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel locally and overnight.
• Work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required, willingness to be on call.
• Work safely alone and as part of a team.
• Adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• Contribute to a strong team environment.
