Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support and optimize Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments. You will lead performance tuning, backup/recovery, and DR readiness while driving automation across enterprise databases.

Ideal candidates have deep Db2 z/OS expertise, SQL performance tuning, JCL, and experience with production support in large mainframe settings, including on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance and production support.
• 3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools, OMEGAMON, and Db2 utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, etc.).
• 3+ years advanced SQL performance tuning, index management and access path analysis in Db2 z/OS.
• 3+ years JCL development and 24x7 production on-call support in large mainframe environments.
• 1+ year experience designing or supporting database replication in enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments.
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning and index recommendations.
• Develop automation to improve database administration processes.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery activities.
• Support Db2 upgrades, migrations, and utility execution.
• Respond to production incidents while participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Provide technical consultation and knowledge transfer to other teams.
