CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments. Responsible for administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, DR readiness, release support, and database automation across critical healthcare platforms.

The ideal candidate brings deep Db2 z/OS expertise, SQL tuning, JCL, and production support in large mainframe settings, with 24x7 on-call rotation and audit support involvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance, and production support.
• 3+ years using Db2 administration tools such as OMEGAMON and Db2 utilities (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, SPUFI).
• 3+ years advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, and index management in Db2 z/OS.
• 3+ years of JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and 24x7 production on-call support.
• 1+ year experience with database replication in large enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-prod environments; manage migrations and releases.
• Tune SQL, analyze access paths, implement index recommendations, RUNSTATS, and REORG for performance.
• Develop automation to improve database administration and legacy support processes.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and DR testing/documentation.
• Support Db2 function level upgrades, migrations, RSU maintenance, and utilities.
• Respond to database incidents and change requests; participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to development, infra, and app teams.
