Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 DBA to support Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments. You will optimize performance, implement automation, and manage backups and DR readiness in a large enterprise.

The role requires 5+ years of Db2 for z/OS experience, JCL development, and on-call production support, with a focus on stability, security, and high availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including maintenance and production support.
• 3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools, Query Monitor, OMEGAMON, and Db2 utilities (LOAD/UNLOAD/REORG/COPY/RECOVER/SPUFI).
• 3+ years of advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, and index management in Db2 z/OS.
• 3+ years of JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and 24x7 production on-call support in large mainframe environments.
• 1+ year designing or supporting database replication in complex enterprise settings.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments.
• Optimize performance through SQL tuning, index recommendations, RUNSTATS, REORG, and resource analysis.
• Develop and implement automation to improve DBA processes and legacy support.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication and disaster recovery processes with testing.
• Support Db2 function level upgrades, version migrations, and maintenance.
• Respond to production issues, change requests, audits, and incidents; participate in 24x7 on‑call rotation.
• Provide technical consultation and knowledge transfer to development, infrastructure, and application teams.
