Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support and optimize Db2 for z/OS and IDMS in enterprise mainframe environments. You will lead performance tuning, backup/recovery, DR readiness, and automation initiatives across critical platforms.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Db2 z/OS experience, SQL tuning expertise, JCL development, and on‑call production support in large organizations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Db2 for z/OS DBA with production support.
• 3+ years Db2 Administration Tools (Query Monitor, OMEGAMON) and Db2 utilities.
• 3+ years advanced SQL tuning, access path analysis, and index management.
• 3+ years JCL development and 24x7 production on‑call support.
• 1+ year experience data replication in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non‑production environments, including migrations.
• Optimize performance through SQL tuning, index recommendations, RUNSTATS, REORG, and resource analysis.
• Develop automation to improve database administration and legacy support.
• Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes with testing.
• Support Db2 function level upgrades and utility execution.
• Respond to incidents and participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation.
