Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to support, optimize and automate Db2 for z/OS and IDMS environments across production and non-production systems. You will lead database performance tuning, backup/recovery, DR readiness, and automation initiatives, collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability in large-scale mainframe settings.

On-call rotation is required.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS DBA experience including design, maintenance, performance tuning, backup/recovery and production support.
3+ years with Db2 Administration Tools (LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, RECOVER, SPUFI).
3+ years advanced SQL performance tuning, access path analysis and index management in Db2 z/OS environments.
3+ years of JCL development, DBA job scheduling, and 24x7 production on-call support in big mainframe setups.
1+ year of experience designing, implementing, or supporting database replication in enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

Administer Db2 z/OS and IDMS databases across production and non-production environments, including migrations.
Optimize performance via SQL tuning, RUNSTATS, REORG, and index recommendations.
Develop automation to improve database admin processes and legacy support.
Manage backup, recovery, replication, and DR testing.
Support Db2 upgrades, RSU maintenance, and utilities execution.
Respond to requests and incidents with a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Provide guidance to development and infrastructure teams.
