Job summary

MO is a remote-friendly tech partner delivering modern software for government missions. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to modernize VA systems, building scalable Java applications and backend services with Spring Boot and REST APIs.

You will work with Oracle, WebLogic, and Hibernate, contribute to testing and CI/CD, and support deployments in an Agile environment. Remote US-based candidates welcome, with occasional travel and government background checks as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5–8 years of software development experience in professional environment.
Strong hands on experience with Java development.
Hand on experience developing REST APIs and web services.
Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments
Developing and maintaining backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
