Job summary

MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to modernize VA eligibility systems with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and REST services. You’ll design, build, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications, while collaborating across teams to ensure quality and reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on Java development, REST API delivery, and integration with Oracle databases within an Agile/Scrum environment. This fully remote position may require limited travel to support collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software development experience in professional environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java development and REST APIs.
• Experience with Oracle or other relational databases.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues.
• Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications using Java and related technologies.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and deployments.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs.
