Job summary

MO is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to modernize VA eligibility and enrollment systems, with remote work flexibility for qualified candidates located in the United States. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications, build RESTful services, and contribute to CI/CD and testing efforts to support mission-critical government software.

The role requires 5–8 years of Java development experience, proficiency with Java 17+, Spring Boot, and a strong background in relational

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–8 years of software development experience in professional environment.
• Strong hands on experience with Java development.
• Hands on experience developing REST APIs and web services.
• Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues.
• Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments.
• Developing and maintaining backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
