Job summary

MO seeks a Senior Software Engineer to modernize VA eligibility and enrollment systems. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications, and contribute to backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.

You’ll work remotely within the US, with occasional travel up to 10%, and collaborate across teams to implement scalable, secure solutions while aligning with government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–8 years of software development experience in professional environment
• Strong hands on experience with Java development
• Hand on experience developing REST APIs and web services
• Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
• Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
• Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments
• Developing and maintaining backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs
