Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to perform high-level coding of complex inpatient cases across cardiology, neurology, and oncology service lines. The role requires ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS expertise with adherence to coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.

You will work within an enterprise revenue cycle setting, collaborating with CDI, quality teams, and clinicians to ensure accurate DRG assignment and compliant coding practices.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding in an acute care facility.
• Experience with revenue cycle processes, CDI, and health information workflows.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10 CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct code selection following Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards (95% quality, 100% productivity).
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG and Medicare cases.
