Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team in Illinois. The role focuses on inpatient coding across cardiology, neurology, and oncology service lines, using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.

Will review complex documentation, apply coding guidelines, and ensure accurate reimbursement while maintaining coding quality and productivity. Remote-work is considered for qualified states; in-person opportunities exist at Advocate Health

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Microsoft Office and email proficiency; familiarity with coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Adhere to Official Coding Guidelines and regulations for accurate coding.
• Code high-dollar and long stay cases across patient types.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG matches.
• Maintain ongoing education and stay current with CPT guidelines and coding clinics.
• Maintain ethical coding standards and report non-compliant practices.
• Meet and exceed department quality (95%+) and productivity (100%) targets.
