Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to manage complex documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes. You will work within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle, collaborating with CDI and Quality teams to ensure proper DRG alignment and Medicare reconciliation.

The role requires 7+ years inpatient coding in acute care, AHIMA/AAPC certification, and strong analytical skills. Remote work is available for eligible states, with a standard 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• 7+ years inpatient coding experience in acute care with revenue cycle exposure.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR/CAC systems.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Code complex inpatient cases using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS per guidelines.
• Review high-dollar and long-stay cases to ensure accurate reimbursement.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRGs.
• Participate in payer audits and departmental policy improvements.
