Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. The role focuses on coding complex inpatient cases with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS and requires several years of acute care inpatient experience.

The coder will support CDI and Quality teams to ensure accurate DRG matches and compliance with regulations, while meeting productivity and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• 7 years' inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Coding Certification issued by AAPC or AHIMA.
• Advanced proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS; strong medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient cases using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS per official guidelines.
• Review complex documentation and ensure accurate code assignment for high-dollar cases.
• Maintain productivity targets (100%) and quality standards (95%+).
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to ensure matching DRGs.
• Support payer audits and updates to coding policies as needed.
