Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Inpatient Coder to join the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team. This role handles inpatient community and academic coding across service lines like cardiology, neurology, and oncology, using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS within an EMR/CAC environment.

Requires a coding certification (AAPC/AHIMA) and an Associate’s degree in HIM, with 7+ years inpatient coding experience. Remote work eligibility is possible for many states.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• 7 years' inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting with revenue cycle exposure.
• Coding Certification (AAPC or AHIMA) required; strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Maintain high quality and productivity standards (95% quality, 100% productivity).
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to reconcile DRGs and ensure compliant coding for reimbursement.
