Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient, rehabilitation, swing bed and LTACH services. You will query providers, ensure documentation accuracy, and participate in professional development across coding teams.

Your responsibilities include DRG assignment, adherence to guidelines, and collaboration with clinical documentation, revenue and quality teams to ensure compliant, high-quality coding.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience - Required
• CCS/RHIA/RHIT certifications preferred or required

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS in inpatient settings.
• Queries providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness.
• Mentors and trains coders and conducts educational activities.
• Attains coding quality and productivity goals and completes special coding projects.
• Collaborates with clinical documentation integrity and revenue teams to ensure documentation accuracy.
