Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services, including LTACH. You will query providers, resolve intermediate edits, analyze documentation, and educate coders to improve accuracy and compliance.

Qualified candidates have an HIM credential (CCS, RHIA, or RHIT) and 3 years of inpatient acute care coding experience, with strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines, plus proficiency in EMR and encoder tools.

Formación

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, and query guidelines.
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or Bachelor's Degree preferred; one of them required.
• 3 years of HIM inpatient acute care coding experience required.
• Certifications CCS, RHIA, or RHIT required or preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS classification systems, following official guidelines.
• Queries providers following Official Query Guidelines to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Collaborates with clinical documentation integrity, revenue integrity, and other departments to ensure documentation and coding accuracy.
• Ensures data accuracy for HIDI and other regulatory agencies by resolving intermediate coding edits and claim edits.
• Mentors and trains coders.
• Attains coding quality and productivity goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
