Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to code acute inpatient, rehabilitation, swing bed and LTACH services using ICD-10-CM/PCS. You will query providers, review documentation, and ensure accurate coding in alignment with guidelines.

The role includes mentoring staff, achieving coding quality goals, and contributing to compliance and education initiatives across the Coding team.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• 3 years of experience in HIM inpatient acute care coding.
• CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification required or in process.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines and query guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Codes ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services including LTACH and swing bed.
• Queries providers to improve documentation and severity of illness.
• Mentors and trains coders and participates in education opportunities.
• Ensures data accuracy for regulatory reporting and coding audits.
• Collaborates with clinical documentation integrity and other departments.
