Job summary

Mosaic Life Care seeks an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for acute inpatient, rehab, swing bed and LTACH services. You will query providers, analyze documentation, and educate coders while adhering to guidelines.

Responsibilities include DRG assignment, auditing coding edits, mentoring, and collaborating with clinical and revenue teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding for compliance and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred
• 3 Years of experience in HIM inpatient acute care coding - Required
• CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification required

Responsibilities

• Code complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS per guidelines and compliance standards.
• Query providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Mentor and train coders; collaborate with departments to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
• Assign MS-DRG and APR-DRG and resolve intermediate coding edits for various inpatient services including LTACH.
