Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) in the United States seeks a Sr. Field Technician to lead technical field crews in substation testing, maintenance, and commissioning. You will interface with customers and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient project execution.

The role demands advanced electrical expertise, project coordination, and mentoring of junior technicians, with travel to varied sites and a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Criminal background check required.
• Willing to overtime and travel out of town.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic technology (military experience preferred).
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• NETA III certification; NETA IV certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in testing, inspection, maintenance, and commissioning of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical apparatus including circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, batteries, and switchgear.
• Perform and lead complex troubleshooting of electrical and control systems with root-cause analysis.
• Analyze test results to validate system performance using electrical theory.
• Consult schematics and engineering resources to optimize equipment functionality.
• Direct repair, replacement, and maintenance activities to restore equipment.
• Develop testing plans, procedures, and work scopes for electrical apparatus and commissioning activities.
• Prepare and review detailed reports documenting testing, maintenance, and system performance.
• Lead large-scale projects and coordinate field activities to meet schedule, quality, safety.
• Train and mentor Field Technician personnel and provide technical leadership.
• Coordinate daily activities with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Serve as primary field contact for customers and maintain client relationships.
