Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Advisor to lead strategic energy management initiatives for commercial and industrial clients in Northern Illinois. The role combines technical credibility with consultative sales to move opportunities from identification through implementation.

The successful candidate will manage accounts, develop energy plans, and influence decision-makers while delivering measurable energy savings and value for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five+ years in energy efficiency consulting, technical sales, engineering consulting, facility optimization, or related field.
• Strong understanding of industrial/commercial facilities and energy‑saving technologies.
• Experience supporting utility‑sponsored energy efficiency programs.
• Ability to influence customer decisions through consultative selling and relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead customers through full project lifecycle: energy planning, opportunity assessment, business-case development, technical evaluation, and implementation.
• Develop Energy Management Action Plans and maintain a living roadmap for priorities and progress.
• Identify and qualify energy efficiency opportunities, assess feasibility, and guide prioritization.
• Communicate business case, financial benefits, and energy savings to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with engineering specialists to create solutions for complex systems.
• Maintain CRM data, monitor pipelines, and recover stalled opportunities.
