Job summary
Resource Innovations seeks an experienced Energy Advisor (Energy Manager / Outreach Engineer) to lead commercial and industrial energy efficiency initiatives in Northern Illinois. You will guide customers through opportunity identification, planning, and implementation, leveraging data analytics to drive measurable energy savings.
The role combines technical advisory, consultative sales, and strong business acumen to influence investment decisions and deliver high-value projects.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of energy efficiency consulting or related field.
- Strong understanding of industrial/commercial facilities and energy-saving tech.
- Experience supporting utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.
- Proven ability to influence customer decisions through consultative selling.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead customers through full project lifecycle: energy planning, assessment, business-case development, and implementation.
- Develop Energy Management Action Plans for each customer and track progress.
- Identify and qualify opportunities, assess feasibility and program eligibility.
- Articulate business case, financial benefits, and energy savings potential.
- Collaborate with engineering specialists to develop solutions for complex systems.
- Coordinate resources and remove barriers to enable project progress.
