Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle-market construction book of business. The role emphasizes independence, sound underwriting decisions, and ownership of book growth, with a minimum of five years in E&S construction underwriting and experience with larger, complex contractor accounts.

Travel of up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years underwriting E&S construction business.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Must have E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% if required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications to classify and assess risk and pricing.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframe.
• Maintain documentation for bound files and worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and company policies.
• Support colleagues with underwriting procedures.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
