Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International seeks an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle‑market construction book. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting, with success handling larger contractor accounts and a sizeable book of business.

The role requires a production and business‑development mindset, and the ability to market to brokers, build relationships, and grow the assigned territory with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• demonstrated ownership of a sizeable book of business (e.g., $3M–$5M).
• Experience marketing to brokers and developing business relationships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents.
• Respond to inquiries from brokers within designated timeframe.
• Create and maintain underwriting documentation and files.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and policies.
• Approve/den y within authority or escalate to higher authority.
• Cultivate relationships with internal and external contacts to facilitate underwriting and business development.
• Serve as a resource to staff on underwriting procedures.
